“I’m going to look awkward…”
If you’re a senior and you’re thinking, “I’m going to look awkward…” I promise you—most people feel that way at first.
You don’t need to know how to pose. You just need a few comfort tricks that make your body relax so your face can follow.
How to look comfortable when you aren’t:
A) Give your body an anchor.
Lean on something (a wall, chair, your knee, your hand). Support = instant calm.
B) Use micro-actions instead of “posing.”
Inhale → slow exhale
Blink → open your eyes slowly
Tongue lightly to roof of mouth (relaxes jaw)
Drop shoulders on the exhale
C) Don’t stare into the lens the whole time.
Look near the camera, then back for 1–2 frames. It feels way less intense.
D) Reset face between shots.
Neutral → breathe → gentle expression. Holding a smile too long creates tension.
